Technology
Education
Technology education is one of the most important
fields in today's and tomorrow's world that will help individuals
stay competitive in their jobs globally. As we discuss this, future
technology education needs to be taught in kindergarten all the
way through the most advanced of degrees.
|
The way to stay competitive within
one's own city, county, country and globally is through
technology education starting K - 12 and with higher education.
No longer will a bachelor's degree be adequate for the future
as a master's degree at least will become the new norm.

Technology education can take many forms. Information technology,
automotive, communication, construction, renewable energy, business,
music and manufacturing technology will all be hot jobs for decades
to come.
A few of the leading future technology education programs will
include such areas a virtual reality, nanoscale chemistry, science
and engineering, robotics, medical, people with disabilities,
communications, psychiatry and psychology, computer to brain interaction,
space and astronomy, renewable energy, biology, ocean exploration
plus many other areas that would take too much space to mention.
Technology education will not stop once one graduates school,
either as this will be a lifelong endeavor and commitment. The
everyday consumer will be invited into future technology education
just like they have been invited into the Internet, cell phones,
high definition TV and broadband communications.
The leading edge science, technology and engineering of today
will be the norms of tomorrow. Disruptive technology will shake
our worlds temporarily until equilibrium is established and new
technology builds on top of this.
Technology education will help us to be informed about robotic
surgery, medical nanobots, computer brain interactions, and advanced
wireless communications.

But technology education itself has to change in order
to connect with kids, teens and adults.
Many children today have never known life before computers
and cell phones. It is challenging for schools and teachers
to keep up to date with the current teaching technology
in order to educate their students.
Right now many students are plugged in to the Internet,
computers and cell phones, connecting on social media
such as Myspace, Facebook and Twitter and making friends
via Xbox in different parts of the country or world.
The pace is fast and will only get faster. Teachers themselves
need to immerse themselves into technology education just
to keep up. Parents also must learn about texting, parental
controls and other methods to keep tabs on what their
children are up to.

The world is changing quickly and only through technology education
do we stand a chance of not being left behind.
